“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (The Message)

Fresh Start's Ministry — The trauma of divorce brings hurt and pain - as though our heart is breaking. For a while it seems that we can never put the pieces of our lives back together. But Fresh Start exists to let people know that there is life after divorce. Our seminar and materials are designed to provide hope and new direction for broken lives. You can join us at one of our weekend seminars, or if that's not possible, try our workbook and tape series . . .
Fresh Start Seminars is a Christian ministry whose purpose is to touch the lives of the separated and divorced. We minister to both children and adults through seminars, support groups, books and tapes. This website is designed to make our seminars and resources readily available to you . . .
For those who have already grown through the Divorce Care discussions, there is another group called Fresh Start, starting at the same time,

Both of these courses are Christian support groups that point to Christ and his Word. Our leaders are Pastor Ken and Pastor Howard and Marlene De Vries, and several others in our congregation continue to also participate and help out. We have seen vitally renewed lives and some have also started to attend worship on Sunday here. Look around for new faces and give them your blessing and love.

How GriefShare Works
It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.
This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before.
GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements:
- Group watching video
- Video Seminar with Experts
Video Seminar with Expertss
Each week your GriefShare group will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies, dramatic reenactments and on-location video.
Support Group Discussion with Focus
Support Group Discussions with Focus
After viewing the video, you and the other group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in your lives.
Workbook-Based Personal Study and Reflection
Workbook-based Personal Study and Reflection
During the week you will have the opportunity to use your workbook for further personal study of the grieving process and to help sort out your emotions through journaling. Your group will spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook study.
When to Join a GriefShare Group
You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. You will be able to continue with GriefShare through the next 13-week cycle and view any of the videos you have not seen.
