A scouting club with a christian emphasis for boys in Grades 1 to 6. The goal of cadets is to help boys grow more Christlike in all areas of life, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:52). Our motto is “Living for Jesus” and our club is open to boys from any church as well as those searching for one or those simply wanting to learn more. Our club is run along with the Fairlawn church and organized by the Calvinist Cadet Corp, an independent youth organization in the Reformed tradition.
At CADETS, counselors work side-by-side with the boys on Bible lessons, service & craft projects, outdoor activities--camping, hiking, kayaking, etc.--also working on merit badges selected from a wide range of interests and skills (Fire Building, Archery, First Aid, Axemanship, Devotions, Giving, Individual Sports, Music, Computer Knowledge, etc). We meet on Midweek nights at Pleasant Street Church about every other Wednesday during the months of September through May. We begin at 5:30 with an optional supper that's already prepared (served till 6:30pm, small donation appreciated but optional) and then move to our club activities from 6:30 till 8:00 pm.
