Experience Christ's Love

Pleasant Street is a church that approaches a skeptical world with the kindness of God as opposed to judgment or hostility. We joyfully welcome all as Jesus welcomes us. We believe each person is created in the image of God and therefore we treat each other with love, patience, respect, and care. We provide support and compassion in times of need and celebrate together in the joys of God’s blessings.

John 15: 9-12 – As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may
be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Romans 12:13 – Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Hebrews 13:1-2 – Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Receive Christ's Word

Pleasant Street Church has a compelling story to tell. We want to share the good news of hope and salvation with the community. We believe our world belongs to God. We are created in his image but we are all sinners. The good news of the Gospel is that by God’s grace we are saved through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe in the Bible as God's inspired Word and we look to the scriptures to learn God's direction for our lives.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Live Christ's Life

Pleasant Street Church is a community of people who joyfully approach each other and the world with the new heart that God gives and we look to use our time, talents, and treasure to nurture others and glorify God. Life is rich when we praise and worship God in all aspects of our lives and bring healing and hope to a broken world. We grow in our love and faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior through prayer, giving thanks, and reading the Bible. We are learning to serve one another out of the experience of having been served by Jesus.

Matthew 5:16 – In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Mark 12: 30-31 – Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

Colossians 3: 12-17 – Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as
members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
