I am the True Vine
Preacher: John Vriesma Series: Fruitful: Growing in Grace Scripture: John 15:1–17
Pastor Matthew has been preaching about the Fruits of the Spirit this summer. We’ve been challenged to show the fruits of peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness and love in our lives. As we near the end of this series, let’s return to the passage in John 15 and reexamine what Jesus meant when he said he was the True Vine.
If we are to be producers of fruit, what does it take to be productive? What does it mean that God will bring pruning to our lives? Might there be some new insights into this well known I AM statement of Jesus when we look into the Jewish culture of 2,000 years ago? How does this tie into our observance of the Lord’s Supper? Perhaps you might even be moved to plant some grapes in your garden.
See you Sunday.
